Subgovernances in Free TON – Part 2

by lerika

In the previous article, we talked about what a SubGovernance is and why they were created in Free TON. In this article, we will talk about how they are organized and what goals they have.
So, all SubGovernances  can be divided into two groups:

  • organized by activity
  • organized geographically.

In the third group, we can include the private SG CryptoNumiz, but we will talk about it later.
Free TON SGs, organized by type of activity, are responsible for certain directions of the project’s development. For example, Web & Design SG is responsible for creating sites about the project for users (not developers). Also, members of this SG create and hold various contests for the creation of sites about Free TON. A bright example of such competitions can be called the recently concluded Winners Works Catalog, in which the site by the GramKit team won.
In turn, DeFi SG, as the name implies, is engaged in the development of the project’s decentralized financial system. During its existence, SG members have held 25 contests, created program “bridges” on the Ethereum and Polkadot networks, launched their own DEX and the TON Crystal farming mechanism.

Free TON SGs, organized geographically, bring together community members from specific countries or even parts of the world. Members of these SGs help the project grow in their home countries by raising awareness about Free TON, taking into account the cultural aspects of a particular country. There is a Chinese SG in the project, whose members have recently successfully presented the project at the World Blockchain Conference. Members of the African SG spoke at African Blockchain Week 2021. In addition to those listed, Free TON sub-boards are located in India, Japan, Vietnam, France, and Korea.
